That's gorgeous...very impressive. How does that steel hold an edge?

hey lerman,
i'll have to say that is one of the classiest folders i've ever laid my eyes on.
the wood you chose is beautiful, the backspacer looks cool and comfortable rounded over like that, and the inlay you put in the opener is suweet! the hollow pivot is unique too!
very nice job!
and the in progress pics took us through the process. very nice touch.
keep it up and you might get a reputation my man! ;)
later,
don

That's a real stunner - really great work - I especially love the blade shape and the way you have smoothed/rounded everything off. I dare not ask how much it costs ... I can't afford it anyway! ;) :D

Lerman, your attention to detail is outstanding, not a bit of steel left unpolished. Beautifuly done!

The 01 steel takes a great edge, I like the old tool steel, takes me back to when I made slipjoints.

thanks for all the good words, i'm really glad you all liked it.

well to tell the truth i havn't sharpened it yet, but from my past experience 01 is a fantastic steel like allot of other carbon steels, easy to sharpen takes an amazing edge and holds it for quite a long time

That is absolutely beautiful! Great work :)

no, i only had two hands at the time:D, and timing is very important at this stage.

Wow! Outstanding work.

How many blades have you created to this point?
Would it be possible to put together a tool list to share with us?

Just goes to show you that you don't need thousands in fancy equipment to make a breathtaking knife. Of course raw talent helps :) which apparently you have a lot of.

Hi Lerman, congratulations and thanks for sharing. It is a very beautiful knife, with harmonious lines and little details that add exactly the right amount of spice. And it shows it's your style. :)

The wood........simply amazing, so beautiful! Did you have to use any type of filler before sanding?

I could bet he did. I've seen some other knives designed by him and it's definitely Lerman's touch in this one too.:)
