It took ages to get this done. The knifemaker who did the work for me got sick, then his first son was born, and a million other things got in the way. But I finally have my Mule just the way I wanted it!
The blade was a very generous gift from Yablanowitz (thanks again!). I had a knifemaker mate of mine grind off the guard and add a bit of jimping.
The handle slabs are amboyna burl polished with beeswax (I love the colour) and held with hollow rivets. The sheath is a beautiful thick leather similar to what I use for my saddles. Only the edges are dyed because it had such a nice natural colour that we didn't want to mess with it. Just a little wax to waterproof it.
The stains where the blade meets the handle are just some excess wax.
