Ditto the Standard!!

The G10 scales, thick blade, and steel liner made it one of the best, well-built knives in the line. Rock solid.

I have and regularly use both a plain edge and a serrated. The latter is the serrated member of my every day carry trio (Sm Sebenza and Victorinox Soldier).

Hello Purple 95! Welcome aboard! I saw a serrated Standard at the SFO! Really awesome piece.. Think some plain-edged ones are still being circulated around...

Hey guys. I did a search, but can't seem to find which models are being cut. Is it here, or possibly over at BF or KF?

Also, the old site had a section to purchase discontinued models from. Not the case here. Have I just not found it, or does the site not have one?

Last q, with the new Lum in G-10, are they keeping the Ti version? I hope so, as I have been saving up for that one for a bit now.

Thanks, E

I think that I miss the C-19 Terzuola Jr. Clipits most. I have mine, an early one with aluminum scales, but I really love it and wish that it were still available for others to buy. Of course, if Spyderco were to offer a sub-3" version of the StarMate, I would be one of the first in line to buy one and be just as happy as a pig in clover, as I have repeatedly said over on BladeForums how much I love my StarMate, but that I am constrained by Washington, DC law to carry a sub-3" blade where I work. Oh, but I can dream.

I'll miss the Centofantes, particularly the Jr. I find the thin Wharncliffe style blade is very useful for my daily tasks such as cutting out clippings, peeling fruit, removing splinters and sharpening pencils.

I have one of the micarta-Wayne Goddards, and I think it has to be one of the best looking blade designs Spyderco has ever produced! Got to admit most of those big holes make it hard to streamline a blade...so even though Goddards are fairly large,it is very flat and a good looking blade as well as very serviceable!

treb, I agree with you. At another forum I posted that it will be unfortunate that there will be a number of Spyderco fans both longtime and new who will not have the experience of handling the "original" Peter Herbst. Both you and I know how smooth that knife cycles--I guess we're among the lucky few.

Thanks to a tip from Sharp1... I just got a "Q" H&K for 55.00 from this site (see below) Since you're "into" guns this might be desirable to you.

Samo,

I sure would like to collect all the variations of the "Q". I have a standard S/E and the new (to me) H&K S/E. I saw on e-bay a Flag "Q" that would be cool to own, especially now! I didn't see what it finally sold for... does anyone know?
My H&K "Q" I purchased from a tip from Sharp1 (thanks very much) at a great price, 55.00 NIB
The "R" is a bitchen knife too, I got one in P/E. I guess any Spydie's a great knife

The C48 Tim Wegner; used one for my big EDC for about 2 years now.

I read something about a 'new' version with something inset into the handles the other day.

Has it completely been dropped or is there a new version coming out or was I just sitting up too late playing on the computer????

Thanks Sam! Just did a quick search of the forum for the Lynx. That looks very cool, kind of in between the size of the C48 and the C49, right? That could be nearly perfect for EDC.

Guess that I will need budget for one or two of those now too.

Sigh... I wish that I was going to the SHOT show this year!!!!!

The Calypso Jr. I just got one in for use as a PE knife that wouldn't be as intimidating to people I was working around. I'd prefer a deeper choil if it's gonna have one, but it's a great little knife. I guess the Native is supposed to take over the Calypso's role as an ergonomic mid-sized knife.

nomaded
01-31-2002, 09:39 PM
Actually, I think the Salsa will be replacing the Calypso Jr. as the medium-sized ergo knife. Sure, the Salsa is a bit more expensive, but I think the additional cost is worth it.
