Rico-Nada on the Vesuvious so far. I sent in the response before the deadline, so hopefully, like yours, the order is being processed. Did you get the FB Lum? I think it is by far the best knife they have made. And how about a mini-military for the F-2003?
Vesuviuses... vesuvi... vesuvae?

Hey guys, here is the official word from Kelly (thanks Joyce):
"Because of the way the program is setup, we only send the main collector
piece to the collectors unless they are set up to receive variations. In
this case that would have been the original C66PBKI (inlayed Vesuvius). Any
variations that become available are offered at cost. For example if a
collector is set up for all variations - on the Salsa they would have
recieved one of every color and every edge configuration (Green Plain, Green
Combo, Blue Plain, Blue Combo, Gray Plain, Gray Combo, Titanium Combo)These
would be in addition to the main collector piece which was the Plain
Titanium."
Do we have any Collector's here who are set up to automatically receive variations and still hasn't gotten one?

Hm, a bit confusing, Carlos. What you're saying is, that I've already received the main piece, and the Forum model 2002 is just a variation? I thought all the Forum models were exceptions from this rule?
PS I am not signed to receive the variations automatically.

Here is the deal. If you are NOT automatically set up to receive ALL variations, then you will receive a letter from the collector program office(Kelly) asking you if you want the variation(s) being issued on any particular model. In this case, the Forum Vesuvius, the letters were issued and I for one elected to get it. So the paperwork takes a while to go back and forth from Kelly to collector and back to Kelly and get processed and 0 then over to the Outlet, who will then make the transaction and then mail the knives out to the collectors.
Meanwhile, the other 300 Forum models were up for grabs and being send everyday to folks who simply called up the outlet store and bought one. Quick buy. They got whichever serial number was available.
So the collectors got caught up in a red tape loop. We will get ours very soon-Right Kelly and RYAN?

There must not be 200 collectors clubies. If my math works at all, that would be 500, the stated run on the forum Vesuvius. I'm not Collector's Club. Mine's numbered 302. Am I wrong?

Weekend yet?

One more additional bit of information on the Collectors Club Forum Vesuvii (thanks again Joyce): They are being numbered this week, so those of you who are signed up for all variations, or whom elected to buy this variant, should be getting them shortly.
Jaxon: The collectors club gets numbers 001 through 200. 201 through 500 are for the open market.
Ladies and Gentelman, It is difficult wating for a new knife, especially when you are used to being the first. HA HA HA. RR

Blades - The Forum Knife was first announce for sale on April 4th by Ryan. the collectors received a letter with a response date by April 19th. If the company policy is to sell variations that are unclaimed by the collector by putting them into the regular knife stream they should have already been numbered. I am patient, but not for long, 40 days and counting since first offered. rico

I'm with you Rico. Why would #203-#500 be numbered and sold-off a month ago and yet
#'s 001-199 have not have been numbered yet? Who starts at #201 in a series of 500? Who is smoking what in Golden? This debacle is an administrative paperwork problem, if anything, and and perhaps even a shipping glitch, not an engraving problem. In this case, the collectors are way behind the average Joe in getting "paws-on" the special goods. It don't bug me though. Like Blades said-the day it arrives is a good day indeed.
Anyone from Spyderco have an answer or solution. How about a projected ship date. Rico
The answer is simple Spyderco has been waiting on the Collector's to send back their paperwork on weather or not they wanted it(forum). When we engave them Vince does them all at once not as the collector numbers are mailed back, this way he (VIN)can bang them out ten at a time or however many he is doing in a group. Hope this helps I'm just as anxious as you guys maybe even more so because I have actually seen them sitting there on deck next 2 be done.

SII - Why would they not be numbered in the first place when the other 300 were done. We all know unclaimed collector knives get sold to the general population. Second - 21 days have lapsed since the 19th!!!!!!!!

Rico, Since SH-II saw them on-deck, the reason they are engraved after the collectors acceptance letters come back could be to to mark the ones that the collectors are getting with the number plus the letter "V". You know-like 175V (variation). Then the ones the collectors do not opt for after that just get the plain number "175" (no V). This is just a SWAG.
SH-II, is that correct then? Something ain't making total sense otherwise... come on, you guys are driving poor rico nutz(er). ME? I'm good with when ever it arrives. As long as it does that is...

I think that Spyderco only numbers variations unless the collectors want them numbered!!!!????? Maybee So Vince (in engraving) And Kelly and Joan (in the office) have been waiting for ALL the collectors to reply. No sense in Engraving them in spurts It's better to number them ALL at once like I mentioned before. I'm not in that "loop" So that my guess and that all it is a GUESS. The only thing I do know is I don't have mine yet like the rest of the members. I will post for you folks when they actually get released hows that?

SII - It would be nice if management responded to this issue. My letter said responses must be in by April 19th, we are 6 days from being 30 days out from that day. Since Ryan announced the sale on April 4th they must have had all knives ready our letters came 12 days later. They should have been sent out long before the announcement of the sale of the remainder. This is my take from April 4th to May 13th is 39 day. Maybe in the grand scheme of life it is a short time, but in this situation it is a significant amount of time. Rico
