Dudes ~ Someone among us had sent Sal a message with my email address as a return path Attached with the message was a virus. Be very cautious when you download suspicious emails. A message have been returned to me on this malicious email by Sal's personal assistant, Olive Draper. So, be wary of any messages that contains attacments. Take care and stay sharp dudes!

Samo,

Check out the thread titled "Warning" It looks like this virus has gotten into someone's address book and is sending out messages to people in the address book masquerading as other emailers. Thank god it wasn't me, because neither Sal, nor you, are set into my address book. Good luck

Linda

Sam,

I've had the same thing happen. A message was supposedly sent by me to someone who isn't even in my address book. Apparently the virus can disguise its tracks by choosing another address from the address book as the sender. The one which I didn't send was intercepted by a virus scan at the ISP.

It's getting out of hand. I get one almost every day now and always from a friendly looking address.

I'll make this clear, right now. If anyone here gets a virus in an email with my return address, it was not sent by me! No one here is listed in my address book, so any emails you get masquerading as me are fraudulent.

Also, if I send you an email, I make it a matter of habit to make the subject very specific. You'll know what I am saying before you open it.

I just thought I'd say that just in case. Thanks all.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Have NO ILLUSIONS ; while I may have a few viruses under "lock&key" they would NOT be

When I want to mail any of you, I do it using the Forum's option "Email to sender". Any attachement of mine is usually a picture, so neither the message, nor the attachament could carry a virus. I received several times messages from unknown forumites. No text, just a script attached. I just deleted them, as they were not reliable. My advice is whether you delete such messages without opening the attachements, or resend them to you via Hotmail.com. They scan all the messages / attachements, so chances are to find out if anything is wrong.
Anyway, the Bible says something about "who drags out the sword, by sword will be cut" (I don't know the original form, it was said by Jesus to Peter, I think, when the romans came to take him).

Dialex- A quick search of the Good Book yields the following:

"Put your sword back into its sheath, for all who take the sword shall perish by the sword." (Matthew 28:52)

Just thought you'd like to know!

To date I've received three or four stupid sounding message titles from unknown senders; all since "knifepunk" came along. I just delete them. But he's trying...

Twice in the last few days, my ISP's virus and spam filter has ferreted out the 'klez' virus (from unknown sources) before it could find it's way onto my hard drives. Fortunately, I'm a Mac user, so there wouldn't have been much effect even it had gotten through. Can't be too safe though.
