A few years ago in South Africa I saw a small "see-through" Spyderco lock blade folder with both the handle and the blade being NON-SOLID. That is to say it consisted only of the outline frames, including the cutting edge, and a large Spyderco motiff in metal connecting the various parts. It was obviously VERY light in weight. Does anyone know anything about this knife like what it was called and whether it is still available and at what price? Did it have any major flaws/
If it was a small knife, you probably saw some version of the Spyderco "Q" knife. There was also a larger version known as the "R." The Q is light duty knife. It is good for envelopes, string, etc. I have heard that the handle can melt easily in intense heat like being left on a car dashboard on a bright hot day.

Welcome aboard dudes! I won't leave the "Q" on my dashboard 'cos the heat here in INTENSE!! Both knives are now collector's items because they have been discontinued. There's a better selection of custom Qs compared to the R which made a single run...

I too am interested in finding one of the knives with the Spyderco logo in the blade. If anyone knows where I could buy one from a dealer/collector please forward contact info.

Well you can always check Ebay, but be prepared to pay alot for them. Some online retailers still have some. Check out A G Russell for the "Flag" Q knife.
