Fellow Spydernuts ~ With mother's day around the corner, which Spydie would you think, is appropriate as a good gift? My choices are :

1. Red Ladybug

2. Pink Cricket

3. Santoku and Cook's knife

I'm giving my mom a Civilian for Mother's day. She lives in a rough neighborhood and she believes that the S & W Cheif's Special I gave her two years should have a backup. Mom likes the way the handle on the Civie is shaped because it gives her a good grip for those slashing cuts she practices at her judo class. She has the trainer. Mom's 77 and tough as a nut.

But I love her and want her to be safe!

My mom is getting a kitchen knife or two. She already has the santoku adn she wants a medium serrated kitchen knife so that is what she'll get.

Gee, since my 3 dogs and horse are my only "Kids", does that mean I get 4 knives??? The model of knife depends on the mother. There are probably enough different types of mothers (in the true sense of the word!), that you could find one for each model of knife.

I know it's not on your list, but my mother loved my Wegner Mouse so much I gave it to her. After she passed away, I asked my sister if she wanted to keep the Mouse and she immediately snatched it. Women of all ages seem to love that little knife. I still have to get another one for myself.

I'm giving my mom an SS Delica. She's always opening mailing boxes with a scalpel and I'm afraid that one of these days the blade will break and she will slice herself with the broken back half of it.She also has long nails and the Spyder hole will make opening the blade an easy thing to do.Anyway,I vote for the red Ladybug. It has a more useful blade shape than the Cricket for all around tasks and as an EDC type knife it should get more use than the kitchen knives. Then again,YOU know your mom & I don't.These occasions always seem to require the most agonizing desisions!

Pink Cricket, in PE. It's not an intimidating knife, and is still sizable enough to complete any EDC task.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

I tried to imagine my mother carrying a Civilian! (She's 70 yrs old, BTW

Far my wife, I'd go for a Jester, a Ladybug, or a Baby Wayne. The Cricket could do it too, but a Civilian!!!

I got my mom a red Ladybug for her wedding anniversary, and she loved it.

We only live once, why not live with a ?

Don't overlook the fuschia jester. I just got mine in lime green and it is a slick little knife. When you put the jester side by side with the ladybug it is nearly the same size but it sure feels bigger.

No longer have my own mother but my children's mother just got a new fushia Jester and a pink SE Delica for her purse. In addition to those two, she also carries the Leatherman Micra.

This eveing when she got home she had an interesting though scary story about the Jester. When she stopped at the local gas station to get her morning Coke, she pulled her keys from her purse to get back into the truck and noticed the Jester was opened. Scared her but luckly, she wasn't bitten by the little sharp blade. Don't know how it happened unless the hole caught on something in her purse and opened it when she took out her keys. The Jester resides beside the Micra on her key ring.

All in all, she really likes her two new toys. The first blade she ever carried was an old model Delica with SE.

The new model in pink made a nice subsitution.
