Hi Folks,
I traded my 50/50 VG-10 Delica for a plain edged, VG-10 version on the weekend. Man, do I ever like this knife.
I had one at Christmas time, along with the 50/50 Model I had received, but traded it away. I was kind of waiting to find a blue, plain edged one but finally got tired of waiting for my local shop to get one in, so went ahead and traded into the black one. I find this model to be the epitome of practical, effective and comfortable function in a small knife. I adore many other models, but there is something about the design of the lightweight Delica that has intrigued me for a long time and appeals to me in terms of it’s relatively low cost, high performance style.
Last evening during a multi-model fondling session, I noticed that the nicely finished pocket clip from my Native will fit the Delica so I swapped them, as my Native is simply a work knife and resides in a pocket most of the time. I find the high gloss, almost “blued steel’ appearance of the Native clip really complements the Delica. The plain edge VG-10 blade stays brutally sharp and is adept at cutting all kinds of stuff. It’s my new favorite Delica style, edging out the 50/50 design. As well, the action on this plain edge is smoother than was that of my 50/50, offering an effortless “flickopen” and approaching the much desired “drop close” effect I prefer in a Spyderco folder.
I’m a flickin’ and a grinnin’!
