Sal,

In the 2001 Dealer's Catalog the G10 Lum is available with a coated blade. I know Spyderco has tried several coatings before and has discontinued them because of disappointing performance and/or aesthetics. Can you give us some information about the new black coating please?

Thanks!

Hi John. Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you. been travelin'

The new Lum Tanto with the black coating was a special request from a very large customer.

We're trying it. It seems to be tough, but no coating lasts forever. We're going to try to educate the ELU to that fact. We'll see how it goes?

I saw it yesterday in a catalogue and methinks it a winning idea. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
