I finally got to handle of of these today and i must say i just dont get the appeal of this model..sorry folks i try to like all spydies..i understand the concept of the wide blade and im sure it would be handy as a defensive tool. wasnt trying to offend just a personal opinion..ron
It happens.
For some reason the Mouse didn't rock my boat. It was undoubtly a very well made knife utilising some of my favourite materials, but just didn't do it for me.
What version of the Lil' Temperance were you refering to ?
I have some reservations (only based on pictures) of the trailing point verion, but I have the leaf blade version on order and can't wait for it's arrival <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I'm getting the drop-point Lil Temp this fall in my order from Linda...
It's the only version I have handled, but have heard the leaf doesn't sit as deep at the tip(when closed).
It fills my hand nicely, for it's size, and has the heft of both a city and camp knife. It feels like it could take anything you can throw at it. I tend to use curved blades, and it is the right length not to lose any tip.
For me, I'd say the appeal of it is the heft and comfort.

To each his (or her) own I guess. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I'm shootin' for one around Sept. ( my birthday )
<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I tend towards the trailing point myself.
It was either the Cold Steel "Scimitar" or
trailing point Lil' Temperence. I'll take the
latter. <img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

sc_rebel1957,
That's why there's Chocolate and Vanilla.
The Lil Temperance is a whole lot of knife in a small package. The G-10 scales and handle design make for a very sure grip. The grip combined with a short but massive blade and super strong compression provides on terrific tool.
I was not inclined to be impressed with the knife until I started handling the knife, but now I convinced.
One way or the other, you pay for your tools!
Personally, the only reason I don't like the Lil' Temperance is the color. If they made it in black G-10, I'd get the spearpoint model in a heartbeat. It's a great knife, somewhat like the Native (not only is it ergonomic, but it's suited for a wide variety of tasks), but geared more toward MBC.
So, until I can see one up close and handle it, see what the color really is with my own eyes, and let the feel of the knife take over from its looks, I'll probably be Temperance-less.
