Hey, all!

OK, I gave in and ordered the PE Co-pilot from eknifeworks . I have a couple of questions from long time owners:

1. Is the Co-pilot pretty sheeple friendly?

2. (A little off Co-pilot topic) A lot of you seem to carry a lot of knives. What do you all use them for?

Daily, I just like to have a blade on me for mundane stuff like opening boxes, envelopes, cooking, etc. Always seem to need a knife when you don't have one.

Otherwise, as an avid camper/hiker/bowhunter/all around outdoors lover, a good knife is indispensable when in the wilderness.

In my alternate identity as a social work grad student, the sight of a knife tends to make my coworkers/classmates squeamish (hence the Co-pilot).

However, some of these people are the type who think that my 16 yrs. of martial arts means that I like violence, and condemn my venison fetish as cruel while they happily order another Big Mac. Hmmm...

Anyway, its late here, and I'm rambling on...look forward to some of your answers!

Mike

I picked up 4 of the CoPilots from SMKW and Have one left. Between friends and my father they went quick. The one I kept is now my money clip, it replaced the K.I.S.S which served well for 5 years. The CoPilot doesn't seem to raise eyebrows of anyone unless they are admiring it. I'll be picking up a few more to set back as Christmas gifts. A excellent knife for anyone.

Xibalba,

Congratulations on the CoPilot!! The CoPilot was designed to be non-threatening and to pass the airport carry limits back in the good ol’ days before 9-11-01. Most sheeple are not cowed by the sight of a PE CoPilot and I have received comments ranging from, “That’s a knife?” all the way up to the dreaded “C” word. (Cute)

I can’t speak for others and can only say that my multiple carries are for differing functions much as any craftsman uses a variety of tool s for different tasks. Self-protection is always in the back of my mind but, in view of Raden’s loss of Lum, it’s best to say my Rookie is used for everyday tasks at home and work. I’m not sure how if this reasoning will work for my Civilian. I rotate my 2nd EDC, sometimes actually planning the carry for a specific planned task. My other EDC, the Gerber 600, being a multi-tool has a variety of applications by its very nature. Both the Rookie and the 600 pass through under the approving eye of LEOs at the courthouses in Tarrant county. Mr. Blonde carries a fitting rejoinder to at least part of your second query at the end of his posts. (Maybe more <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>cos make us more human - )

Stay safe! Stay sharp!

It was too good of a price to pass by. I ordered two, one for my english teacher the other for my art history teacher. Depending whether or not I like it better than my ss dragonfly I might give the dragonfly away instead. I also ordered a lime green jester pe for myself as I needed a keychain knife.
