Where can I find the Rookie's technical details, models and pictures? I don’t see it in the Spyderco website.
The words “ SEKI-CITY JAPAN” written on the blade of my Rookie. What dos it stands for ? Don’t you make it in Golden?
Why do “Spyderco” intent to stop the Rookie production?
Since I like the Rookie’s design, size, and functionality - what is the most similar knife in Spyderco line of products?

Hi Yorik,
Out with the old and in with the new! The Rookie was discontinued to make room for new models. We have to occasionally eliminate older models to free up production time for upcoming designs.
Since the Rookie has been discontinued the specs are not on our webpage. I will try and locate an image for you. It came with a stainless steel or G-10 handle. Both versions were made in Seki City Japan starting in 1998. Blade Steel: ATS-55, Weight 3.3 oz (94g), Blade Length: 3 1/8" (79mm), Overall Length: 6 3/4" (172mm) and the MSRP when we made them was 99.95US for the G-10 and 84.95US for the stainless.
It's possible SFO might have some still. Email Patty or Angela and they can check for you.... SFO@spyderco.com

Greetins Yorik~
The Rookie's, along with many more models, will soon be up on the website. Many of said models will be discontinued come January 2001. I just added the Pegasus, Navigator, & Almite Walker to the site.
