Just got my micarta jester!

This is really a nice little knife. I'd like to carry it but I can't bring myself to use it because of collecor value. What do you think?

I think that the enjoyment you'd get from carrying and using it would be worth more than any money you'd get if you sold it later. I always get a kick out of guys that buy something for $100 and sell for $150 10 years later and think that they made $50. What about inflation? In actuallity, they just lost money because that thing now sells for $175.

A Spyderco Jester deserves to be used, it's made for it. If you want to buy a knife and save it back, get a cheap knife that wasn't really made to be used anyway. I bought a switch blade for $12 that is totally unworthy of being in my pocket. But it is fun to take out and flick the blade once in a while. It's a cheap peice of junk.

Lots of guys got &quot;this buy one for use and one to hold back&quot; thing. Why not buy two different ones (say, a Jester and a Delica) to use and none to hold back and enjoy carrying and using what you spent your money on.

If you want to invest, play it safe and buy VINIX, a stock mutual fund that mirrors the S&amp;P 500.

This is all JMO, but mom said she'd slit me gizzard to gut with her new Civilian if I didn't tell it so there you are.

CK is right in every respect....I am one of those buy two types(one to use and one to hold, grrr....even bought three of one knife!
I'm coming around slowly but old habits are hard to break, but I must as my pockets are becoming deeper and my wallet empty. Although, I have a nice knife collection. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
