Hello SpyderPeople!

I am now living in Toronto, and loving it! So, my next priority (aside from getting a job) is to find a good Spyderco dealer in the area.

It's good to be back! So, what's news?

Kahz, Spyderlady Galore!

Welcome to the North (even if you are in Southern Ontario ) Good Luck with the job hunt!

Good Spyderco dealers near Toronto? Maybe some of the S. Ontario members can make suggestions. The nearest good Spyderco dealer to me is the Knifetrader in Lansing Michigan - only 5 - 6 hours South

Welcome Back Kahz!

Have you tried the "dealer search" on the homepage of Spyderco.com? I'll give you a better reference for Spydies ( not in Canada ); try glasshartt (GlassHartt@AOL.com)
she has ( or can get ) Guntings ($90)mili's
($90)Lum Chinese ($115) or, on the "low end"
try a jester ($22) or a dragonfly ($30) or
cricket ($35) or Salsa ($50). Let her know Al Treat (me) sent you ; as for the forum, I guess the old axiom applies : "The more things change, the more they remain the same"
Keep'em flyin'!

Welcome back, Kahz, things weren't the same without you. Much has happened since you vanished.

Several trolls, one of which has become a contributing forumite, appeared. ATE/AET was forced to sell off a large portion of his collection, including the Forum Vesuvius.

Overall, the forum has retained its brittle grip on sanity, and the SpyderAddicts Treatment Center TM has been running full-bore. So, what's new up north with you?

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! My Spydies are getting adjusted to the move just fine.

I see the SpyderBug has worked strong in my absence. My illness went into recession for a few weeks, but it seems to be coming back... Uh-oh...

Kahz, your Uni classes didn't include telepathy, did they? After a while, and all the rave reviews, I officially succumbed to the madness and bought myself El Ratón!

Great little knife, and I've been keeping the hype up in your absence!

Kahz, although I haven't had any experience yet with Glasshartt up here, I'm giving her a shot this fall.

If you want a good dealer up here, great selection, reasonable prices(close to the US(site) prices, without exchange[ie Delica is $70]):

Welcome back Kahz! Check the Spyderco international dealers listings.I saw three dealers listed for Toronto. If you strike out there,we have a pretty good Spydie dealer here in the Buffalo,NY area. They usually have a fairly good selection on hand although not as good prices as Glasshartt.

Hi Kahz, Welcome to Canada! Although as I sit here in Edmonton we are 2,150 miles apart, I feel as though you're right next door.

I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding some good Spyderco dealers there in our nations capitol city. I hope you do, as there is nothing like having a local store in which you can browse Spydies...between purchases of them.

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

Kahz,

Slowly, slowly. I've just about finished the foils (rudder and dagger board), it's taken a while but I'm pretty happy with the shape. There's still lots of epoxy to sand before I put the hull together but the rest of life keeps getting in the way (work, kids etc.) I'm taking 2 weeks long service leave in August to do nothing but boat building followed by a weeks skiing as a reward .

How's the job hunting going?

Hello Kahz

Welcome to Toronto. There are a couple of Spyderco dealers up here. Marathon sports on King street east of Spadina has a good selection of spydercos but is expensive. S & R Knives in the woodbine mall (Hwy 27 and Rexdale Blvd) has a good selection but is expensive...you can bargain them down to 20% less than the marked price usually...taxes included. LeBarons on Woodbine avenue in Markham (north of steeles) has a good if sporadic supply at reasonable prices.
A good thing to check out is the twice a year Canadian Knifemakers Guild show which is held near the airport.

Their website is http://www.ckg.org

Good luck with the job thing.

Kahz, gonna make a suggestion as you plan on living here... get a heavy coat. It gets mighty cold up here.

I know my cousin's wife was wearing a ski-doo suit the day after thier wedding(in october), and she only came from South Africa(Johanasburg(I know I butchered the spelling))...

(Or, has the Spydie Virus gotten so advanced in her system that she is too busy snapping up rare Spydies??)

SpyderNut

Ah, a mere cure would be a very questionalble solution to the potent grip of the Spyderco Virus Syndrome (SVS). I believe that the cause for her non-attendence is due to a more subtle fact... Like maybe she was taken to the same place as our dear friend and often commentator Samo. I do hope that no ill has befallen our friends and comrades in arms. (If so, I will give the traditional 10 Spydie Salute to honor the resting of these brave souls. )

Hey Kahz! Nice to see all the "Ontarions" come out of the dark. I am from Thunder Bay. I only buy my knives from S & R Knives near Wodbine. I have been dealing there for five years. If you deal there often as I do...they will give you a deal. Good/fair prices. If you were to just walk in the door you would probably be charged lots. Ask for Shaun or Rodney. Tell them that you heard about them on the Spyderco Forum from Craig. They might work you a deal? I have found them to be the best. There are places downtown but they are expensive!!! But look for yourself I am just one of their happy customers. Hope you like Toronto, I know I did. I went to school there for a few years.

I wonder where Kahz managed to run off to now? Maybe if we take her Mouse captive and demand a ransom, she'll take notice and respond..... I dunno', but action must take place!
