Well I just got back from my graduation trip. My family and I went to Maui for 10 days. I saw some beautiful spydies with scrimshaw ivory attached to the nonclip scale. the cheapest one was a ss dragonfly and was $195. Too rich for my blood. There was a variety of other spydies with varying scrimshaw ranging in price all the way up to $600. I felt that those were all overpriced. I sadly only traveled with a SAK because I was afraid to lose a spydie. I got the opportunity to go scuba diving on a trilogy day cruise which was awesome. It was my first dive, after the first few minutes you get used to the feeling of breathing underwater and popping your ears every few feet. It looks like the glasshart specials have been sent out and I look forward to getting mine.

Glad to see that you gave scuba diving a try.I've been diving for about 25 years and still love it.Do yourself a favor and take a certification course. It's a safety thing, those quicky resort courses just aren't enough. Many years ago when I went to school out in California, I spent most weekends diving. You're lucky to live out there as there is some fantastic diving available.Be warned, it might cut into your Spydie funds!

Wish I could have had as great a grad as that... My parents/family gave me:

$250 cash
Charcole(sp?) BBQ
BBQ pans
Luggage

... and paid for my weekend to Alberta! I went border hopping with a few friends. Just over to Lloyd(didn't feel like wasting too much gas) and picked up a pile from the 'board store.
I tell yah, Crown Royal gets expensive when the 26oz barely phases you. I still have 1/2 the 2nd one, and I was actually coherent by the end of the night. I was also the only one without a hangover in the morning, after me downing about 3-4L of water as I was downing whiskey.

Maui - Wowie!
Congratulations on graduation and welcome home! What an awesome gift! Ditto Lizard's post. Diving is a great adventure and a lifetime of discovery if you stay with it. Grab the C Cert and grow from there.

CalPoly..that's Wierd Al's old alma mater. Must of been the intense curriculum that turned him! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Stay safe! Stay sharp! <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

How much do the certification courses cost and how much time do they take?
