I emailed this guy asking him to remove this item as a Spyderco Volpe telling him it was a fake and didnt want someone to by this knife and tarnish Spyderco reputation but he insisted that he bought this from Spyderco and it was 100% real. Just wanted to give a heads up. I will report it next.

You are correct, the clip is wrong and the real Volpe has a bug cutout on the clip side, this looks like it is painted on.

He just told me that he will have Sal Glesser post on Ebay and confirm that this is real.LOLOLOLOL :confused:

Definitely a fake. Clip is wrong. The entire lock side, and for that matter the entire handle, is wrong. There is no bug cutout. There are no relief cuts at base of lockbar. The finger separator is pointed rather than rounded. The front of the handle is squared off rather than rounded.

EDITED TO ADD: Just sent him the above comments, plus a link to the real one in the online catalog.

Yup - one of the standard Chinese models ... one of the better fakes but still a fake. I'd love to see Sal's face if this guy ever did turn up with one of these to be authenticated :D

I got a different response:

"This was purchased from a first line Spyderco dealer and I am awaiting confirmation from Spyderco. I will send you a copy as soon as I receive it if you wish."
