Fellow spydernuts, which is your favourite blade point : leaf? clip? drop? tanto? reverse S? Upswept? sheepsfoot? Spear? Which of the those mentioned would serve you best? IMHO, my favourite would be spydie shape used on the military, endura and delica... Well, of course the Calypsos too!!

Well it's just my opinion but the "leaf" shaped blade on the calypso and calypso jr I think are some of the most useful blades I own. But I am partial to the S curve of the Civilian and my Cricket. Just my 2 cents worth.

Well, I guess it depends on the knife. For smaller knives, I'm beginning to really appreciate the wharncliffe, and sort-of blown-up variants of it as found on the calypso jr. and delica. A wickedly sharp point and a long straightish edge seem to really work out well for my small-knife-jobs.

On a larger knife,, my favorite is easily the straight-clip, with drop-points and regular (concave) clip points tied for 2nd place. I like my bigger knives to have a belly (hence clip and drop-point shapes), and a good tradeoff between point sharpness and strength (hence the straight clip).

Call me crazy, but I think the gunting is just in a class all it's own. It's my new favorite, mainly because so much went into the design. But I'll always like the civilian to,and don't forget the harpy,it spells out the "C" in cut

Someday my friends,I'll own them all!!!

Drop point, for sure. Great belly and strong tip. I like clip points but HATE when I chip little bits off the formerly oh-so-pointy end.

I have to go with Samo. The Military (Enduro, Delica, etc.) blade shape is one of the most all round useful shapes I have used. I spent several years in the military and still like to go "sneak and peak in the brush". Tanto point is by far the most atractive shape I have seen in a blade. I love to collect good, well made tantos, but I do think the Military's shape has been the most over all useful shape for me.

I think the best one is the one that is on the Delica. I use mine every day and it is a really good shape IMO.

Well,Samo I might as well put in my two cents...gotta admit I really like the enduras, but have grown fond of the goddard...of course, there is always that little one(don't even know the name)that has been riding on my key chain for years...can't beat it for removing splinters and other quick little jobs...of course it is always accompanied by the endura or goddard...never leave home without them although a nice axis lock Benchmade(very quick!) has been seeing some duty instead of the goddard(It's not discontinued like my micarta Goddard). The Cold steels that I have are mostly for hunting...

Hi BigRich! Welcome aboard the forums! I give due credit to the excellent blade geomettry of the Endura and Delica... These shape ROCKS!
Oh, BTW Herr Tom ~ Check out Bram's training videos for the Gunting!! They are AWESOME!

Spearpoint, when were talking spyderco, but the most beautiful blade-shape is the gurkha kukhri. I own one, and I bought it just for the sexy blade!

My favorite blade shape is the Shabaria (recurve) although I don't carry it daily. I also like the design of the JD Smith (Persian?)which is my daily carry.

I like the shape of my Jess Horn lightweight I´ve been carrying it daily for three years now. The false edge is perfect for opening letters. I´m sad to see that this particular model is discontinued.

I like most people as long as it's a spyderco I really don,t care what shape the blade is.

Umm... The Shabaria is truly exotic.. Its a work of art too! Can't agree more with the Jess Horn design!
