Be very carefull with the screws. They are soft and are damaged easily. Also put loc-tite on the screws that hold the blade when you put it back together. they will loosen over time.
Good luck.

Jeff,

Where did you manage to find an almite cricket? I have 2 (one PE & 0ne SE) that I bought when they first came out. My PE was until recently my frequent flyer companion and is a little nicked up. I love to find another.

Alrighty then, bro.<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I see you've come clean with us on the matter at hand.<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I'll now call off the brigade of <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>hounds so you can have some peace. Speaking of Crickets:

The &quot;Yin Yang&quot; Crickets can occassinally be had by Santa Fe Stoneworks.

I'm thinking of changing the Cricket. We'd keep the same pattern. All else is open. Sooooo.....those of you that appreciate the Cricket design, what would be your &quot;ultimate&quot; Cricket?

Sal you opened one heck of a can of worms. First how about vg-10 a new frn color like dark khaki or green. Make it so that we dimantle it fully because I want to send one off to body cote to have the blade and liner fully coated with boron carbide. Bring back the tufram cricket, just updated. Vampyrwolf made new handle scales for his out of plexiglass, ask him how it went. Also considr making a larger cricket with a 2.5 in blade.

Sal,

I like marauders idea of a larger cricket. I'd love to see the return of the original cricket. Or prehaps an all damascus model. Maybe even a Glasshartt model if possible.

I had plexiglass ones made, and still have a pair running around if ATE doesn't want them. I can make a few more too.

I made the clear ones so that I could have the tufram ones off to make SS scales. I'm having the SS ones marked this weekend(finals end monday!!!). I'll try and locate a digital camera to use and get some pics posted.

I'm being a lab rat for my friend also. He makes swords and fixed blade knives, and wants to get into folders. He's going to make a 4&quot; cricket, about 90-95% plain, the base 0.5&quot; or so is serrated. Just doubling the stats for the 2&quot; you make. Get pics when it's done.

PS. Sal, is there any problems if he makes one for me with the hole?

Jeff, I'll give you a tip on taking it apart...

use a flat surface, clean of all else, and make sure the washers are in right when you re-assemble. I know it was hard the first time, b/c I didn't pay much attention when it came apart.

Dear Mr Glesser

Please just re-release the Almite and CF versions for those of us who missed out the first time. In VG10 <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Otherwise a Titanium Frame lock version please <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Thank you, it's a great, great little knife.

How about a smooth FRN handle (black) with an imbedded silver spyder like the Vesuvious.
or
Polished SS/
or
Bring back the CF version.

Sal,

Marauder (M2K2), The Cool, and Yog have it fairly well covered. Almite Crickets are favored by most after-market rescalers. Japan's about to run out of the SE Almites soon due to intense Forumite pillaging of Seki City and the outlying areas. Once this source is depleted, there will be chaos - rampaging, looting, and fighting in the streets for Almites. CFs are not far behind. There is mention on this very thread of an invasion of Edinburgh to liberate the blades of Cricket-Al. For the unity of our great country, for world peace, as a fellow American, we appeal to your sense of patriotism and compassion - bring back the almighty Almites. Or maybe an SS version would help.

Al,
Fair Dunneideann is safe far now, lad! Should the Rising Sun set upon the remaining SEs, CFs and, aye, the fair Pinks even, ye may not fair so well next on! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Stay safe! Stay sharp! Free the Almite Crickets! &lt;img src=&quot;spyder.gif&quot; width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0&gt;

Well it looks like Jeff's opened a right 'can of Crickets' here!.

I'm with Jeff on the coloured G-10/VG-10 and blued steel clips and a larger Cricket would sell like hot cakes!, but no FRN handles please and bring back the Almite models!.

Java ~ Did you get my email a few weeks back?. When are you going out to see Mr Hasegawa? Have you noticed he's posted a pic of himself on the website, the poser!<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.

I am any for any Cricket upgrade. don't knock frn (blue, red, green, yellow, purple, multi colored. G10 would also be great as well as limited addition CF's in different colors. Rico
