I'm hunting around on the net for my free programs. I searched under 'graphics design programs' and got a ****load.
What program/version do you use to do the interesting ones? just need something to play with.
Thanks.

if he's anything like me, I check me email 1-2x /day... I'm normally running around my forums though. Checking about 10-20x/day...

As a part-time knife maker, I also would like to see some of these CAD programs. I normally have to do everything by literally "drafting" a copy of the knife components on paper, and then commit it to templates. A computer program would make this MUCH easier.
So Dialex, what do you recommend? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

He uses vector graphics programs such as CorelDRAW 7 and I think, Xara X.

Hi, glad to see you're interested. Actually, I start like everybody, with a pencil and a piece of paper. Then I begin usually with CorelDRAW. (Xara is great too). I preffer this instead the ACAD because is more versatile. I used to export it into ACAD and make some adjustments (angles and curves, basically). But as my drawings are especially for showing (never dreamed of seeing them real), now I skip this phase and export them into 3DMAX for rendering.
Spydernut, I do not know much of CAM. I heard there are tools where you just insert the floppy and they make that piece, but I have never seen one. Nor I know the limitations or requirements involved in making a 3D object on such a machine. But I can gladly send you a 2D ACAD design (or any format you prefer), if you think it'll be of any use.
