The Spyderco MT12P is now available online at spyderco.com (https://spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=703). The MT12P features Cru-Wear steel and is only available through Spyderco (https://spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=703).
There is currently a limit of 2 per person that will be lifted on September 19, 2011 if there are any left.

any connection to vimcru ?
They are both made by Crucible, but are very different in composition. While I can't find Vim Cru listed at Crucible anymore, if I'm correct, then Vim Cru 20 is now known as CPM REX 20, as the data sheets I can find for both of them are exactly the same except for Carbon content (Vim - 1.35%, REX 1.30%). From what I can find, they are made up of:
Vim Cru and REX 20/Cru-Wear
Carbon: 1.30-1.35/1.10
Chromium: 3.75/7.50
Manganese: 0.35/0.35
Molybdenum: 10.5/1.60
Silicon: 0.25/1.10
Tungsten: 6.25/1.15
Vanadium: 2.00/2.40
You can check out their info sheets on Crucible's site:
CPM REX 20 (http://www.crucible.com/eselector/prodbyapp/highspeed/cpm20.html)
CRU-WEAR (http://crucibleservice.com/eselector/prodbyapp/tooldie/cruweart.html)
Non-Crucible data sheet for Vim Cru 20 (http://www.matweb.com/search/datasheet.aspx?matguid=25dc1c0e432f4903aba678d0738 c6da6&ckck=1).

We've heat treated the Cruware Mule and will be re-releasing, we hope before Christmas. Actually it tested quite well on CATRA.

I'm hoping they get the Cruware out - SO THAT THEY CAN CLEAR THE DECKS FOR THE ELMAX MULE!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

From TazKristi in the recall thread (http://www.spyderco.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51690&highlight=MT12P).
How long will it be before the MT12P is re-released?
Allowing time for all knives to be returned, batched and processed, we would estimate a re-release sometime in Dec/Jan.

So, as a newbie on this forum, to find out about this and other mules for sale, I would need to check this specific forum (New Product Announcements) ?? No email when released?
Thanks!

I've never gotten an email about the new releases. I either find out here or on the Spyderco Facebook page.

As another new guy, can Mules be purchased thru vendors like CS and Howes, or only from Spyderco themselves?

From Spyderco directly or on secondary market at a premium(auction website or bladeforums). To purchase from Spyderco, go to the company website and register. Pay attention on the forum for notice of sale start date and act fairly quickly--depending on the steel, they generally sell out in a few days.
