i m in boy scouts and need a quality pocket knife... should i stick with the 4in endura go with the 3in delica or get a Benchmade knife (ascentII) with a 3.4in blade? do you think the endura is to big?? is the delica so small?? the ascentII is in between... should i stick with that?? help me out... i need this knife for an up coming camp also the limit for a scout knife is 4 in so the endura just makes the cut ( get it, makes the cut ha ha ha, )

When i'm worried about being PC(read, when i'm with boy scouts), I stick to the Delica. Otherwise I stick to a blade(actually a pair, BM 73X though) in the 3.5" category.

For a knife that is just a little longer than the Delica but feals longer / bigger you might look at the Native.
If you want a bigger blade that wont draw too much unwated attention then you might try the Lum Chinese folder, very nice blade profile.

Hope it helps.

A really great Boy Scot knife would be the Native PE.They have some listed on ebay right now with a buy it now price of 38.00.3 in blade,440v Steel and less price than a Delica, can't beat that.

Spyder_dude,
If you already have the Endura and Delica, take them both, backup never hurts. If you are still looking to buy, J Smith's advice on the Native is good. I think I would suggest the SE though. I like to have the option of serations for heavier cutting and ropes, items you are sure to meet at camp.

I really like BM but if your going to shell out the money I suggest give a little more and get an AFCK (or mini-AFCK if you have size restrictions, but I think the AFCK is right at 4&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>. I think the G-10 will hold up to more abuse and for me it is more comfortable.

Do the scouts really have size limits on pocket knives? What is up with that?

yah there are blade length limits but different scoutmasters say different things. i know mine doesnt like a 1 blade knife. so ofcourse we all bring them. i have used the delica and it is the perfect camping size. i have the serrated blade and like it but bring a plain blade to.

I'm going to toss-out a slightly different idea; How about a Spyderco Dyad as your &quot;Scouting folder&quot;? With a Dyad (or Dyad, Jr.), you'll have BOTH a serrated blade (for cutting rope, etc.), AND a plain-edge blade in one handy folder! ...And as the Boy Scout motto says: You'll &quot;be prepared&quot;!
