Just wanted to make an observation. Sorry if it sounds like arse kissing. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

One reason I like Spyderco is that they acknowledge other makers when they use a specific feature of theirs. If a maker has invented or popularized a certain feature, Spyderco is one of the few companies that will give credit where credit is due.

For instance, I was looking at a catalog from a couple of years ago where Spyderco calls the linerlock a &quot;Walker Linerlock&quot;. Catalogs also acknowledge that Walker invented the ball bearing detent, plus they credit H. McBurnette and Al Mar with the front lock design. On the web page catalog, David Boye gets credit for the recessed lock release on the CJL.

Spyderco doesn't have to do that sort of thing, and most companies don't. It's not a big deal, but I think it's a really classy move.

Also, every now and then, a company will get accused of &quot;stealing&quot; someone's lock or overall knife design. Sometimes there's some truth to the accusations, but usually they are baseless. That kind of accusation has been leveled at almost every major company, but I've never heard anyone make that kind of charge against Spyderco, for any reason. That's actually a pretty remarkable accomplishment.

You never hear of spyderco get accused of anything due to the fact that they are the ones usually being copied by someone else re:clips, serration design. They were the innovators of the design. That's why it's all I'll ever carry. And that's not arse kissing my friend that's the truth. They'll always be the top of the field

Someday my friends,I'll own them all!!!
