A message from Faire Lady Glasshartt sent my mind along this path. I thought I should share.

I am not sure how other forums work. Honestly I have not visited many others and those I have don't seem to have this same feel. I may be a hopeless fanatic though.

What I want to comment on is the really nice sharing of ideas, honest (but not brutal) comments on other makers, help finding this or that , help finding blades from other makers. It is a really great part of the knife collecting/using community I wish others knew about. We're like a super friendly coffee shop (hope Java likes that) filled with knowledgable knife aficianodos. Too bad you have to bring you own coffee.

"Ne vyklykaj vowka z leesoo, ..... bo tsej vowk maje ." Don't call the wolf out of the forest, because this one carries a .

PS. Please forgive the misspellings

In my first post (bewildered) I said that I was overwhelmed. In that case I was not only referring to the amount of information and number of factors to consider when choosing my next Spydie, but also to the warmth and friendliness of this community.

It was clear to me before I made my first post that this was a community of people who were familiar with each other -- and it was just as clear that I would be welcome to enter with out fear of ridicule or criticism. There do not appear to be any “outsiders” here.

This community is many things. Warm, friendly, enthusiastically opinionated, Informative, spirited, open, unconstrained, supportive.

That last perhaps, is most significant. Without the unconditional support of the thinker, if not the thought, we would not have the free, open, and unconstrained exchange of information and ideas that exists here. Perhaps we wouldn’t even have the community.

Did some one mention……COFFEE!!!!

Good words, my fellow Arachnophiles!!

This forum is not only made enjoyable by the Guardians of Lore and all who seek them, but because of the diversity of people and their opinions we are afforded the chance to experience life vicariously through the adventures and experiences of others. Everyone brings his/her own unique flavor to the Forum and all opinions are fairly well tolerated and respected. As I grow longer in tooth and enlightened in the ways of the I have been fortunate to have made friends with many of you. To have found a home where you can occasionally head off on a bizarre tangent, and strangely enough many will follow even when cos are not readily the subject, is like having a Spyderco Master Card without a credit limit ---Fargin’ Priceless!! This is a great meeting place from a great company with great people where we can all hang out and be totally casual! Keep it light! Keep it sharp and keep posting on my sharp edged brethren and sistren!!!

Stay safe! Stay sharp!

The first thing I think of with this forum is an old Scout "cracker barrel". This is simply a group of people (usually leaders) who get together to shoot the breeze and just enjoy each other's company.

Many words of wisdom have come out of these, by people just sitting around a fire talking. It is a great way to relax, and gives you a chance to talk with those who share the same likes as you.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.
