Got home today to find my new G-10 Navigator laying on the porch. Ordered it from John Jensen on the 17th.

This'll be old news to some of you, but what a sweet little knife! I'd never actually seen one, except in pics, so it was great to find that it fits my hand perfectly.

The edge was a little bit rough, a few licks with the steel has it hair shaving sharp. A drop or two of BreakFree has it so it'll drop the blade from horizontal to vertical when you release the lock. Gotta be careful doing that stunt. I've had this knife, what?, two hours?, and I've already cut myself dropping the blade onto my middle finger. gotta love that, eh?

Now I'm wondering why did I wait so long to get one?

Anyone know if any of the current black pocket clips will fit this knife? Nothing wrong with the silver, but black would be a little less conspicuous.

I'd post a pic, but the PC died and I'm on the new iBook and haven't got drivers for all the good stuff (scanner, printer, etc.) yet and I don't have a digital camera yet either.

Please excuse me while I go find something to cut up (besides myself that is!).

Never let minor details like the facts get in the way of telling a good story.

Bimjo,

Glad you like your Navigator! Java the Younger has been using an Almite PE for the last 6-months as his EDABSC (Every Day Anywhere But School Carry) and the appearance and performance impressed me enough to buy him the SE and both a PE and SE from Faire Lady Glasshartt for Java the Elder. Can't speak on the clip issue but you might check with Mike and the guys at SFO. They might have a recommendation and a clip or three. Enjoy the Nav and I'll be looking for the G10 version next!

Stay safe! Stay sharp! <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Just a thought - Navigators, CoPilots, when are we going to see the real Pilot or a Bombardier or a Tail or Door Gunner??? <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>)

Way to go, Bimjo on the new <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> addition! The Navigator is indeed a fine knife, and the G-10 really makes it sweet. I'm debating on gettin' one for my own meager little collection. Hee hee!

Java,
Well mate, it is good to see your happy face this mornin'! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Btw, I enjoyed your new call-sign for EDC. (EDABSC...ha ha!<img src="tongue.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>) I think I'll try it sometime at my University. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> (They love me anyway for my knives...)

Cheers!

Michelob

Congratulations for your new spidie, and enjoy it. I knew that the G10 Navigator is discontinued and currently is only the Almite one available and I can't help wondering why as the one you have is obviously better.
