This is my first of the Bob Lum Tanto serie folders, and I must say that I really like this blade! I always thought the knife looked a little "plain", but upon a closer inspection, I've found it to have a ton of character. (I traded my Starmate for it..) It is in PE, which is good for me. (Serrations will just get caught up anyway when I'm pulling it from a car door...) I figured that I could always replace a Starmate, but I wasn't so sure about the Ti Lum. Dang, is this a sweet knife. What do you Lum fans think? Let's here it for the Lums!
In heavenly bliss,
~Michael

I like my Ti Lum Tanto so much I just had a custom sheath made for it by Gary Graley. Beautiful workmanship - just what a Ti Lum deserves.
Gary added the short lanyard. I think I'll switch it for a fob made out of dark brown rawhide which should match the sheath better.
For those of you who may not be famimliar with Gary's work, check out:

(why the embossed footprints? - it goes with my signature line below)

The tanto is IMO one of the most effective blade styles, and when it comes from a master like Bob Lum... Enjoy it.
4 s ter, that's a really sweeet sheath!

Dang!!! I'm not a Tanto fan, but I need to get one of these just so I can have a custom sheath for it.
Awesome work.

You don't just have to have a Lum Tanto to enjoy Gary's work.
Check out the Chinook sheath below.
I've been carrying my Lum Tanto in the sheath for a few days now and can really appreciate the artistry it takes to make such a sheath. It holds the knife firmly but still no problem pulling it out when you need it. A great job of fitting the sheath to the knife!
I know it may be sacrilege to remove the pocket clip from a Spyderco (not absolutely necessary) but it is a nice alternative carry method.

4 s ter,
Those are some pretty cool sheath designs you have there! I wouldn't mind having a few of those for my Spydies.
Peace out,
Mike
