View Full Version : My first devious sin......

Well, I honestly couldn't resist....really. You ready for this? I bought my *first* Benchmade the other day. (I know...My bad ) It is a Mel Purdue 350 in Satin finish with the Plainedge configuration. Before you yank my Spyderco-Permit, let me tell you that I am still VERY MUCH the SpyderNut. I just had to bust loose from my Spydie habit for this once...(The ratio of Spydies to Benchmade is around 30 to 1, so I guess I'm safe. ) Anyway, I think its a great little knife, and aside from its brand, it seems to be well made. (I DO NOT like thumb studs...) Oh well.

We cool? I hope you'll all still talk to me...heh heh

Mike,

It's OK young man. We all have our occasional trespasses. I too have other knives. But it happened before I contracted the Spydie Virus.

Cheers,

Jaxon

Weekend yet?

I just make sure that if I buy another brand of knife (last one was a Camillus Arclite) I also buy another <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> at the same time

We all have our asides to the Addiction. I, for instance, happen to love slipjoints. Part of the reason would have to be that before the Mouse, a slipjoint was all I could carry at Uni. However, for any tactical or working scenario, it's all the way!

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Mike,

You did the right thing by confessing your sin. Now for your penance you must send a to everyone who replies to this thread (me first).

Thank you, guys. I'm glad I'm still one of ya'.

Clay,

Heh heh heh! Thats a neat idea, really. I guess you'd get my Gunmetal Blue Lum.... I know you sorta' like those models.

Take care!

Michael

Don't feel too bad...I also carry a non-Spydie (along with my Endura/Chinook/Ayoob and Delica)...A Cold Steel Vaquero Grande. HOWEVER, if Spyderco were to come-out with a folder like the 'Grande...

Enjoy your new knife. I also like some BM models (the ones with the round hole™ - mini AFCK) . Competition among knifemakers is a very good thing and even we, dedicated fans should encourage it now and then.

Benchmade makes a fabulous knife, Sal himself is quick to tell us this, and has in the past.

Congratulations on your new knife!

Jeff/1911.

Variety is the spice of life! Many Spyderco employees carry the occasional Benchmade, Kershaw, Cold Steel et all.
