Limited Spydercard?

There's a listing on ebay for a "limited" Spydercard with a blue spyder laser engraved for, I think, the Atlanta show, and is supposedly 1 of only 100. Can somebody at spyderco verify this?

Kong - I know we made up some for the blade Show. I didn't think there were a 100 though. Joyce, Do you remember how many went to Blade?

There were 200 SpyderCards with a laser engraved blue bug. We sold them only at Blade Show 2000. I believe they are all gone.

I get that alot of that when someone new looks at one of mine with the &quot;bug&quot; on the clip...How come it has a bug on it? or Why the little tick?

Never give up Ted. Last year at a gunshow I found an old stock NIB spydercard for $30. ( note: not the limited one displayed here). Spyders have a way of popping up when least expected. I had overlooked that dealer for over 10 years as he mostly had Vics, case, and some home made knives.

He then proceeded to pull out and sell me a commerative worker, and a few others also that really surprised me.

Of course when I'm looking for them I rarely find them that way.

BTW , the Flatbyrd is worth getting on it's own merit. Joe

i picked up a "second" for $16, i can't see anything wrong with it myself but it wasn't up to par for Sal and the crew.

edit... i just went searching on the bay for the blue spydercard and i only came across a regular one I searched the Bay as well but then I realized that the original post in this thread is from 2000! :o


just a heads up for everybody not familiar...it looks like a second...there is a notch on the spine of the blade....seconds arent covered by the spyderco warranty and usually sell for alot less then the regular prices. The only Spydercard that's up for sale at the moment looks ok to me. I'm not too familiar with this model but the notch on its spine seems like it serves the purpose of mating up with the handle.

my bad for looking for the blue spyder one...i didnt look at the date either. as far as the one on ebay being a regular one....you are right...i just looked at mine and it has 2 notches, one right after the other...what can i say...brain fart.

I revived this 8 year old thread ;)

I wanted to share the photos of this 1 Of 200 Spydercard from the 2000 Blade show with the newer people to this forum.

I didnt intend on people searching for these, because there were only 200 of them made 8 years ago I doubt if any are available now.

Sorry to confuse you guys this was purely for information & to record these as having been made at one time.
