I'm looking to collect "Q" blade variants. So far, all I have seen is the flag, HK products, PRCA (professional rodeo cowboy association) and gungames.

Any others? Is there a list posted somewhere? And is Spyderco going to allow the modification of the "R" also?

Kong - There were more than 50 variants made. Some very sophistocated. I have no idea how you could obtain them. Most were made for customers with their logos on them. We tried to set up a "collecor" process, but the customers didn't want any made that they didn't control.

We've had no such requests for the "R". Probably due to cost.

Kong- Contact Patti at Ironstone Distinctive Bladeware in Hawaii. I know she has a few variants of the 'Q'. She is a frequent poster to the BF Spyderco forum under "Lokelani." If you can't find her contact info, let me know.

I have H&K, Flag, EMS, REI, (EMS and REI are outdoor retailers.) Blade magazine's version, Cairns and Brother (Fire helmets and equipment.) as well as the original 'spyder'.

I'm pretty sure both EMS and REI are still available. Try www.rei.com for thiers. I think EMS has a website too but I don't know the URL off the top of my head.

What's "GunGames" and are their Q's still available?

Gungames was a magazine devoted to the recreational side of shooting. They covered the Bianchi Cup, Cowboy Action Shooting, Bowling Pin Shooting and possibly Sporting Clays with shotguns, along with many other types. No politics involved, covered all ages from youth to seniors, and with celebrities also. Was out of production for about a year for various and sundry reasons, and just recently started publishing again. They had a "Q" on their website for sale, but I waited too long before trying to purchase it. I don't know if they still have any or not. I missed out on Blade's also, so I still look on ebay.

Kong- Sounds like a great magazine. I've never seen it on a newstand.

NCBlades- Where'd you pick up the skull and crossbones? Any chance of there being another available?

I thought AKTI had one made also but I've never seen it mentioned anywhere.

Stupid me... Good thing there's an edit button!

I think I found EMS, try http://www.shopems.com/ - Eastern Mountain Sports. I'm searching their site right now, but all I see from Spyderco are plain and 50/50 Delicas.

I think the Q design is pretty cool, the COMPLETELY adjustable pocket clip sounds like fun. I'm hoping to have a flag Q very soon(like as soon as Patty over at Ironstone gets back from vacation!). I saw the REI model, can't say that the logo appeals to me. I found an interesting design at http://www.toolsforstagecraft.com/n315.htm, says it's for the IATSE Locals 15, 363 and 33 and they want $80 for it...

Can someone post a link or email me at rexstout@uswest.net a picture of the H&K model?(just thinking... a Q with an MP-5 in the middle would be cool!)

It didn't take long to acquire the Q's. I like them because they are cheap to collect. They are getting harder to find. Just keep lookin around and you can still find some.

The H&K Q's appear on eBay pretty frequently.

Hi guys,
You can add to the Q custom list two more that we did in France for our mag "La passion des cuoteaux" :
- CICCC : international club for custom knives collectors
- SICAC : international show of art & custom knives (Sept 30 & oct 1st 2000)

Ive got a few of these, but all mine have the "fat" handles. Most others I see now have the thin handle type, like its been milled down.

Any certain one more desirable than the other?
