OK, tommorrow is week 4 since 3 more s showed up at my door from Linda... The Millie is getting a 2nd review now.
**********
Up till I recieved my c36, I had only used smaller s. Delica, Calypso jr, 'Fly, Cricket, Ladybug, Wegner jr... and only handled the larger ones. in store.
I have come to appreciate the 4" size now.
Edge:
After 4 weeks, with a steeling(after week 1), and a couple swipes on the 204(after week 2, just to check angle, approx 5 swipes each side, white sides), and stropping the edge this last weekend(sides of the double stuff case), it still shaves cleanly. I LIKE THIS STEEL! It cuts anything I've thrown at it, and I've tried whatever I could.
*I got the 50/50, which is more like 2.5"/1.5" PE/SE... the serrations are just the right size to do anything. The ones on the Native seem too small.
Handling:
It seems like a lot of knife when you first pick it up, but it's VERY comfortable to use. The G-10 seems 'cheap' at first, but I love it!
Weight:
It's great spot. Heavy enough to feel solid, light enough not to drag down sweat pants(or feel heavy in your pocket, as I carried it for an interview yesterday). The balance point is right behind the pivot point, so it seems handle heavy which is abut right(good control).
Lockup:
Well, after forcefully(flicking, dropping, whatever worked) opening for 4 weeks, I have the lock mover a bit. It now hits so that the liner is JUST inside the tang. Under a 30x magnification, there is just a bit of tang beside the linerlock. I have slight wearmarks on the tang 1/2mm in... The stop pin connects fully, with wearmarks full across the tang. The whacktest(on my wooden waterbed frame) wielded NO movement what-so-ever.
Movement:
It has finally loosened up, now it spyderdrops. It also allows for the wrist flick-assisted openings(thumb and flick, she flies open)
Overall:
I'm impressed. After 4 weeks of hard EDC work, it still in factory condition. It has made it's mark on my pocket though... in and out quite a bit, the side is a bit torn up.
Price:
Worth many times what I payed... Well done Spyderco. Thanks Linda for making the prices affordable to all, everyone needs a millie.
EDIT: noticed a spelling mistake.
