What do you need advice about?
I think the hardness depends more on the heat treat of the ATS. If it's a spyderco ATS-55 blade, I think it will get very sharp with moderately decent edge retention. it will be harder to sharpen than say, a spyderco AUS-8, but probably easier than maybe ATS34 or tool steel.
just follow the directions that came with your sharpmaker. should be a snap.

start with the corners of the grey stones, set in the 40 degree slots, then follow the step outlined in the book.
If it is serrated, only use the white stones, as the grey remove too much metal, and will wear down the serrations prematurely.
ATS-55 is a relatively easy steel to sharpen from spyderco, taking about 3-5lbs(approx 2Kg) of pressure and about 10-15 strokes per step(outlined in the 204MF book, provided with every model).
When you get to 'Aus' steels, they take about 2-3lbs, and 10 strokes... vg-10 takes about 5lbs and 20-25 strokes... 440V is just a guessing game... too much pressure and you can create a wire edge, too little and it will not even sharpen.
*Our greatest triumph comes not from NOT falling down, but from getting back up every time.*

Zoran,
Welcome to the Spydie forum!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
The advice I have is have a steady base to set your Sharpmaker on, and go slow for now. In time you'll get quicker.

Welcome Zoran!
Are you sharpening the edge to a 40 or a 30 degree angle?
