View Full Version : 50/50 or 60/40
Sal, If you do the Gunting in a partially serrated format I'll not only be your friend for life but I'll order the complete set of knives/trainers/videos/holsters. A spyderco with part serrations/part straight keeps your options open.
apart from this will the new G10 tanto come on 50/50?
Hi V34. the Gunting is pretty short for a combination edge. given a cutting edge of only 3", how much plain edge (from the tip to ?) and how much "teeth" would you consider ideal? Does anyone esle feel the same way?
The G10 Lum tanto will have both edges (plain & 50/50).
sal
Sal, even an inch of serrations gives you the chance to use this portion to cut rope, cable ties etc but still leaves you a sharp straight edge for fine cuts. Also the serrated portion starts a cut in tough materials to be continued by the straight edge.
There will be a 60-40 serrated version of the GUNTING,....Poppa SPYDER and I had discussed it a while ago..I had a choice of all serrated, 50-50, 60-40.. I prefer 60-40 so thats where we will go with it...
This was actually done in writig a while ago but Poppa Spyder is a very very busy guy with tomns to do..he sometimes loses track of what hes talked to me about..
( I throw ALOT of stuff at Poppa Spyder!!!!)
I really like 60-40 and when cutting UP into someting , edge up..the ramp will pull the cutting into the serrations...ohh boy serious matter seperations...
