The other day, while folding my Calypso jr lt, I tried to flip-close the knife and it folded upon my index finger. Have you also made the same experience? <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

dePaul,

I have had the same thing happen to me when I tried to close a Spyderco using the &quot;flip-close&quot; method. I found that if you put your index finger as far forward on the handle as you can before you try to close the knife, if the blade does hit your finger, it will be with the unsharpend portion of the blade. This should prevent any more blood loss.

Good luck,

Bruce

I work in construction, we often get safety awards after working a set number of manhours without a accident resulting a doctor visit. One time we all receved knives engraved with the company's name. Well shortly afterwards two men had cut their fingers, one was the superintendant, neither seriously enough to require a visit to a doctor.

Hi dePaul. Sorry 'bout that. Finger placement on one hand close is important.

I cut myself once.

Hi Bruceter. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.
