Two days ago I got my Meerkat and SS Dragonfly. Both very nice knives. I cannot believe well I guess I can coming from Spyderco the fit and finish of these two beauties. Cannot find a single flaw or fleck. I really like the heft of the SS Dragonfly, and as per another post I put on a lanyard and am very pleased with the way it looks and feels in the hand. The Meerkat is the reverse s/serrated. Serial number 100 V. Are all Spydies serial numbered with a V at the end of the number? As the advertising says, it is addictive to play with. Not sure how much I will use this one as I have heard they are being/are dicontinued, anyone know if there is any truth to that or was that just another bad rumor? I think I might try to get a KIWI next what a slick looking little knife. Sounds like a good christmas present to me. I think I can wait that long for another Spydie!

Congratulations for your new spidies. Great choice on both Can't say which is nicest.
I have a Vesuvius and it says only 337, no letters.
As about the Meerkat and other models to be discontinued, it was just a bad joke, so no need to worry

The V is for Variant, which means some collector specified they wanted a SE-S Meerkat, then didn't buy it.

Never underestimate the impossible.

CKE & Dialex,

The first 1000 knives of a collaboration are numbered. The first 200 of any production model are numbered with the Spyderco Collectors Club member's personal number. The V signifies a variant from a regular production model (i.e. A different blade type or handle than the basic issue). As S&S stated, your Meerkat, was either ordered by a collector and not purchased or the collector sold it. Congrats on a nice collectable!!

Hey thanks for the info folks! Appreciate the help on the Meerkat. I can't believe these two little Spydies they are awesome. The Dragonfly is one hefty little knife very sheeple friendly in my books, as others have stated. Thanks again!
