Small Seb, wood inlay. Leaving the CR on the sheath is a dead giveaway for a Reeve, the question is which one.

Never underestimate the impossible.

It was the Kiwi

Ever since I got my first knife with a pocket clip about 8 years ago I have come to really hate carrying a knife loose in the bottom of a pocket. All the grit, lint and grunge really plays havok with a knife's workings.

I'm going to a wedding shortly and wanted a small good quality gents folder for the occassion, and low and behold Spyderco go and release the Kiwi, perfect model with perfect timing.
The only problem was in the pocket carry. The solution, the Chris Reeve small calfskin leather pouch for the Umfaan. A perfect fit and a very good price ($15).
Pivot end goes in first, to protect against pocket grunge, and the small flaps at the end of the pouch open just enough to get a good grip on the butt end of the Kiwi.

The Kiwi has turned out to be a very nice knife, the choils are just right to get a very good grip, (even with medium to large hands). A nice feature is that because most of the front choil is in the blade section, it means that the knife has a very balanced look and feal, I find most other knives in this blade range tend to look very handle heavy.
The Kiwi is also a very nice cutter. This is my first warncliff blade, but thanks to the Kiwi I have a fealing it wont be my last
Much has been said about the Kiwi's fit and finish, the only thing I can say is that the rest weren't exagerating.

BTW
I would much rather have had a calfskin pouch with a Spyder logo on it, nudge nudge wink wink, say no more, say no more

What a great solution! I really like the Kiwi too, but also hesitate to carry it for the same reasons as you stated. Thanks for the idea yog!

Yog,

I know, it doesn't count but I thought it might be the Kiwi too. Great idea. I found the SpyderCo DoubleStuff stone pouch is another possible home for the little guy and the nameplate is right too. I still think a very fancy lanyard is a necessary touch for the Kiwi. Working on that.

Cheers,

Jaxon

Weekend yet?

It's a shame that Spyderco doesn't make a nice little slip-cover (like the CR) to go with the Kiwi. That would add an extra touch of class to a very classy knife!

Kiwis are really good "big little" knives. I can get an excellent working grip on the Kiwi in spite of its small size.

If I could afford one I would get A Kiwi.

Right now money is tight.

Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.
