Sal,

I have seen pictures of the Versivuis(spelling???) and the Gunting. On the Versivuis the lock is on the left side liner. While on the Gunting the lock release is on the right side liner. Bram Frank want the lock on the right side so the user would not have to change hand positions to close the knife. I agree with his opinion on this. Why did the Spyderco Design Team(SDT) choose otherwise. Is it better?

Another point is on the ATR which is an intregal Compression lock. If the lock release is on the Right side liner, this would be a safer lock because the palm is focussing pressure on the liner. Same as the Sebenza. The only reason I could think of maybe you did not do this is for hand comfort. Because of the cutouts in the handle and without extra handle material overlay the SDT might feel the handle would not be comfortable. Is this the case?? Oh and when is the ATR coming out?? Will you bead blast the ti handles for better grip or leave it polish like the proto I handled at the NY show in November??

I went into lock placement on the other thread.

I'd like to give the Ti some texture. Haven't decided how yet. A very rough tumble would provide tecture and hide scratches. The holes in the scales and clip also provide grip.

Sal,

By tumble do u mean the Stipple meathod you see in the rough finish on the blades of Japanese knife makers?? Or do u mean an orange peel affect not buff to a polish degree just a mat finish to provide more grip and still looks nice.
