Dear Sal,

This may be out of your hands, but are you making any plans for the "Spyderco Story" to be published in paperback version? Its a great book! And I figured if a softcover is available, more folks could afford it.

BTW, I've just started reading the book and I've found some errors, ranging from picky grammatical stuff to more serious stuff like the various spellings of Jim Oddo/Otto. I probably wouldn't catch factual errors about the knives, but I catch stuff like that.

So, I was wondering if a list of errors has been started for the next edition, or if I should email Ken, or just stop being so anal?

Ewok - That was a good observation. You think the book could reach a larger audience on paperback?

Dunno. I don't know much about publishing, but I have seen an awful lot of "coffee table" books remaindered (ie severly discounted) at the mega-bookstores. I'm sure Sal and Ken and everyone else weighed the cost/benefit of using b/w pictures versus color, but I think the book would have a better chance of ending up under more christmas trees if the pictures were in color.

Ewok - As a user, the book had paid off in terms of coverage. Spare the spelling and grammatical errors, I think its a fine book! Some colour photos would add more value.

Regarding the printing, that is up to Palladin. They produced the book. I guess it depends on sales.

Ewok, regarding the errors. I would really appreciate your sending them directly to me. I am responsible for corrections, should the book go a second printing.

Well, spare the errors, its a fine book which is both informative and educational.
I guess hardcover treatment is deserving for a book of such nature. The minimalist approach seemed to work in presenting facts and figures. Maybe some of the photos could be in colour on the second print.
