Who was responsible for the Spyder/edge and the Spyder/hole? Are these patented? Seems to be Spyderco's signature. When I first saw these knives I thought they were ugly. After reading all the testimonials for a Wegner and buying one, I got hooked. I guess you just have to handle one to appreciate it. I still like Benchmade, Microtech, REKAT, SERE, REEVE, Em No dealers in my area so I just have to rely on the forum for info.

Hit a return when I shouldn't have or whatever. Can't find an edit button. Anyway, was going to include Emerson with the others and say that Spyderco's are somehow different and it is hard to explain why. Guess you understand.

Howdy. Yes Sal, the owner of Spyderco has that hole protected, but I think that the edge is not. The hole gets licensed to other makers sometimes. The edit button is the little spy glass looking thingie on the tool bar at the top of your post. Just click on that icon to edit your text, ad pics, etc. Id recomend the Spyderco Book. It is a good read. Great pics too. It is for sale here, or go to E Bay..

You could also check our forumite Glasshartt. She has great prices for the book (and spidies also).
Most of us also like and respect other brands, too.
