Spyderco has many "firsts" under its belt such as the clip, the hole and serrations. Was indicating the steel type on the blade a first as well?

There were a few companies that listed steels occassionally. such as Gerber listed Vsteel on their Vasco wear blades.

I believe that Spyderco was the first to list the steel on each knife. Then we produced a steel composition chart so the ELU could know what the steel name meant.

Spyderco made the first production linerlock (with ball bearing/detent) in the USA.
First Production G10 model (C15)
First production ATS-34 in USA (C15)
First CPM440V production (Military)
First VG10 production (Moran)

for some.
