A few months back I handled a PE military. It felt really nice in the hand, smooth opening, and lightweight. The blade is huge! I don't think I'd have a need for a PE blade that long, but I think a combo would be just right.

Anyone who has this variation, reviews please?

Combo Edge, works for me, the best of both on one knife. I get the combo edge if I have a choice on all Spyderco knives. Except for opening envelopes I prefer the Spyder edge for my cutting uses.

mac - I have had the combo military for about 3 months. I'm a firefigher and carry it 24/7. Used it on seatbelts, cardboard, jeans, car carpet, T1 cable, telco wire, roadkill deer(fresh), kernmantle, hemp utility rope, mattress with springs and it has held up well. Run it over a Sharpmaker once in a while and can shave my forearm. If I don't have it with me I sure feel naked!!

Hey mac_heath :

I own a P&S Mili and think it has more utility value than either the PE or SE ( note
some military knife(s) are designed with combo edge(s)). I SURE wish the P&S Mili had been around in "83" when I did my TDY, it
would have been part of my gear, for sure!

Mac, Jeff is the man to see about the Millie.
I'm getting 1 for christmas from my wife and i also think i'll take the CE as you stated it's a big blade, but think of the times your out at night and some thugs happen to be near.
I know i fell comforted by the sensation of the Beretta 22 auto riding IWB CCP ofcourse, and the bulge in my pocket caused by the dual s sitting in my 2 front pockets, usually a Lil Temp or CE Endura and lately the G-10 rookie RF.
Should i ever need to call on my for that purpose i think the shock value of 2 shiney blades opened from both sides in under 2 seconds will be a fine deterrent. :-) Ron
