Howdy! Any news on the Temperance, Sal or others? Such as: when it might come out, handle material, or blade steel?
Almost all of the prototypes set to be released this year sound cool to me, but the Temperance is the one I'm most excited about. Last I heard, the little version may come out in early 2001. I'm kind of worried though, because I haven't seen much about it lately and I don't think the model was included in the latest dealer catalog.
Hi Cerulean. There are several "Temperance" models. The first one will be the Lil' one.
It is not planned to be a high volume piece. Production is planned for Golden. It is listed in the new dealer newsletter which just mailed.
Handle material (for at least the first two runs) is scheduled with a green G10. Fairly thick for us as 14mm. The twin full length liners are nested into the G10.
Blade material is CPM440V. Flat ground from edge to spine. 5/32 (4mm) thick and Rc55/56 for toughness & edge retention. There are two blade "Styles"; a rhino horn (ala JAK) and a leaf/spearpoint style like the Dragonfly.
Locking mechanism is a stainless compression lock with an MBC rating. The lock is on the front side (opposite the Gunting).
It is my own design, but with fairly heavy influence from James Keating, Bram Frank and Bob Taylor, throw in some Michael Janich. Kind of like "If I were to design a 3" folder for me, with what I've learned from them, what would it be?".
Vince is handling the engineering.
Trainers are planned in red.
Delivery is officially this summer, but we're shooting for sooner.
It is a fairly expensive ($200+ range), low production, "Not for everyone", tough 3" folder. More like a semi-custom than a production piece.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the great info, Sal. It sounds like this will be just an awesome knife.
