Question about new refined Viele

I noticed while I was playing with my Vieles (they are so smooooth!) that the washers used in Viele is thicker white ones, opposed to a thin orange ones used in other Spydercos (yes, I'm guilty of taking apart few of my user Spydies). My question is what is the difference between the two aside from the thickness and if it is the reason Viele is so much smoother in opening/closing than my other Spydercos. Thanks.

do any of your other spy's have a liner lock
if not thats why liners don't drag on the blade, as they glide under them --
hence smoother operation.

Yes, I own other Spydies with liner-lock and none of them are as smooth as my Vieles, even if I adjust the pivot tensions. Although I admit that my Shabaria is pretty darn smooth, too.
