I know it's a smaller version of the Police, but I would like some positive or negative feedback from anyone who has one. Could it be used as an everyday carry? Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,
I like mine very much! For the overall closed size of this one it is really something how big the blade is. Its just like the full size says.."Its as much blade that will fit into the handle" The only down side at all is the opening hole...It is smaller than most, which is a little harder to use, but becomes sencond nature by the first day or so. Ive seen some very good prices on the G-10 models.

It's a good, reasonably sized knife. The construction is very solid with an adustable pivot (which I have not tried out). It cuts deeply into little fingers if they are in the way when closing (another ouch - Spydie bite - I'm learning).
Good knife. I got mine at the WRKA knife show for just $42 which is a fantastic price.

Thanks for your input. I tried one out today and was impressed. It was about the right size I was looking for. Now I need to decide...stainless or G-10 handle. Does anyone have any input on this subject? Thanks, Matt

The only reason Id go with the SS is if you want a thin knife. For me,I love the feel & extra width of the G10.
Note: The G10 Rookie has two versions...the first one's dont have a liner at all, just the G10. The newer ones have a liner on the clip side. I just happpened to stumble on this by accident while looking through some in stock. The newer ones have the clip screwed into the steel liner, which I like.

Definitely the stainless. As noted previously, it's thin as a Swiss watch so it carries easily and slips smoothly (but never accidentally) out of your pocket or waist. It looks great and is really easy to keep clean, glue from tape/boxes, food, whatever, rinses right off. And it has the nice solid feel only the steel handles give. Try one and you'll have to be really impressed to ever go to a G-10 handled blade and I'll bet you'll never go back to one with zytel.

The problem with some of the knives with stainless handles is that the quality of the blades steel seems to decrease. For example, the Delica and Endura(zytel) have ATS-55 blades and the stainless versions have AUS-6 blades. I do not know enough about the two to know if there is a big difference. Can anyone tell me if I am really going to tell the difference in quality?

The stainless Rookie is ATS 55, so no worries there.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I decided to make The G-10 plain edge Rookie my first Spyderco knife. I have a feeling I may of just started a new hobby. Matt

The Rookie is an awesome knife. You can get it razor sharp and it is a SOLID knife.
In the land of knives, Spyderco is king.
