View Full Version : SpyderLady Season's Greetings!
Hello SpyderFolk! Long time no see!!!!
I have been too busy discovering every little corner of this wonderful city, but I never forget my SpyderRoots.
Current EDC's: Still my beloved "El Raton" and my wonderful "Chinese Folder" (howdy, Carlos! *waving*)
I just bought myself a X-mas present, but I will have to admit it was not a Spydie (oops!). It was an Eternalight Rav'n torch! Couldn't help it, I love lights and much as I love knives! Anyhow, my new year's resolution consists of a Spyderco Kiwi. What a sweeeeeeeeeet knife!!!!!!!! Any reviews out there?
It's good to be back, been gone about 7 months, but I am still alive and kicking up here!

Welcome back, Kahz m'dear! How're things on your end of the stick?
Reviews float about on the Kiwi. Most people say it's an incredible knife, though some say it's too small. I usually suggest they shrink their hands, then try it!
Never underestimate the impossible.
S&S, hello pal!!!! Well, I gotta have a Kiwi!!!! So many new things going on, this is too exciting!! :D
I need to do some serious catching up!

How could I possibly forget? There are a couple contests arollin', so you might as well take a shot.
Never underestimate the impossible.
4 s ter,
Loving every minute of it!!!! I love this city so much! Never a dull moment in TO, even in the cold of night. Got myself a bad cough, so I am taking it easy this weekend. No more dancing around at 3 a.m. in sub-zero temperatures. But, I will be at the forum much more frequently after the "holidaze" are over.
I missed you all! S&S, I saw those contest posts, I am going there now.

Kahz! Welcome back! Thought maybe you'd froze when you moved up here from the sunny south.

Vampyre,
Well, Chicago is not precisely the sunny south.
Here's a brief history of Kahz in TO since May 2002: Landed, very quickly, in May, very nice customs officials (hats off to them), found a nice apartment within two weeks, took a holiday to Upstate NY and Boston, ate a lot of clam chowder, found a job in TO within 3 months, took a holiday to Quebec City and loved it, partied a little too much in the last 7 months, fell in love with TO, decided to remain in Canada the rest of my life, worked over 50 hours every week for the last four months, spent too much money at clubs and restaurants, need to save money for more Spydies. LOL!
Can you tell I love this place? Still, I can't believe I stayed away from the forum for so long. Been back just a few minutes and I am already addicted to it!

Hey Kahz welcome back and glad to hear you are liking TO. I went to school there for a couple of years. Have you checked out S&R Knives yet at Woodbine mall. In TO they are the best for blades that I found. Take care have a Merry Holiday(LOL)

Kahz,
Hi there, and welcome back. I've always had fun in Toronto when I've visited too. Glad to hear you like it so much. Did you notice that one of the Bladeforum contests is to win a Kiwi??? Isn't that timely? Good luck.
I have missed you around here. All the very best to you.

Hey Kahz,
Been a long time! You were missed, and it's great to hear from you. It is still mostly t-shirt weather down here on "la frontera", just in case you've forgotten. Get the Kiwi! It's a must have spydie! Welcme back!

Bogey, I am headed your way this next Saturday. I will be visiting my family for the "holidaze" then going skiing close to the "Promised Land". I don't miss the warm weather, I must confess. Today the highest temperature in TO will be of approx. -3 or -5 Celsius (currently around -10 with a wind chill of -21, all Celsius, don't ask me about F but it's cold!). Paradise to a coldweather-lover like meeself.

Best part of warm winters, golf year round! I actually prefer cooler (note: "cooler' not "freezing" temps. I love visiting the north, but I keep coming back to my beloved desert!

Good to hear from you too!! How's the boat and how are you enjoyin' that southern summer weather?

Lady Kahz,
Things are goin' pretty dandy on my end in the Mellencamp State. I just finished the 1st half of my sophomore year at Tri-State University, of the which I am very relieved. I changed my major from Accounting to Criminal Justice, so that should prove to be interesting. Other than that, I've been a *good* laddie and have even managed to stay out of any excessive amounts of mischief. I am presently working with my brother on a construction job about 50 miles from home. Oh well, being able to work again is a heckuva lot better than sittin' through another Biology lecture....errrrg.
By the way, did you get your needed college studies required for your degree? I'd love to hear about it when you get a chance.
You take care and have a great evening, Noble Kahz
~Michael
Allen,
??!! What?! OMG!!!! You did not!!! I will owe you a big hug, dear one! Patience, patience...
SpyderNut, glad things are doing well... on my end, I still need more credits for my career change, but now I am confused. Shall I get a TESOL (teacher of English as a second language in Ontario) certificate, or a PhD with some type of concentration on Statistics, or shall I go ahead with Archaeology/Anthropology or whatever the sunshine decides. I am a bit lost but enjoying myself too much. A whole new set of possibilities has opened up with my new job and I am pretty much letting things flow without worrying too much.
So far, the job is good and exciting and I have a lifetime to decide. The PhD is sounding more and more attractive, but then again, there is also the opportunity for motherhood in the not so distant future. Geez, decisions, decisions... I need another beer.
I am still saving for my Asian trip, of course. And Clay better watch out, I may end up in Australia after that. LOL!
Kahz, open to changes.
