The Amite Navigator, which I won in the New Year draw, arrived yesterday. I was very much looking forward to getting but it has exceeded my expectations. I'm amazed at how good the fit and finish are for a production knife and it goes without saying that it cuts like a lazer. What impresses me most, however, are the ergonomics. I've always considered that a knife with a blade less than 3" was too small to be much use and even some 3" knives don't fit my hand very well. However the handle of the Navigator gives such a secure grip that I could imagine using it in situations requiring a fair amount of pressure. It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the development of this knife and I hope it will pay off in the success of the Meercat.
Of course, being a Spyderco, I shouldn't have been surprised by any of this .
Thanks again, Sal and crew, I know I'm going to get a great deal of use and pleasure out of this knife. Only problem is I may have to buy another as my girls are already fighting over who's going to inherit it .
