I'm back to carrying a Spyderco now if I can figure out how to use this one. It is 7" OAL opened, 3 1/4" serrated blade with thumbhole, 5 1/4" OAL closed, black, with a belt hook? at one end (the pivot end) which has a spring loaded ring that keeps it on your belt, I guess. My dumb question is: How do I carry it and how do I use it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I think your talking about the Snap-it.
Well you use it with the blade as a cutting instrument and with the Snap-it Clip you carry it wherever you can snap it in.

I forgot the Snap-it should be similar to the C30BK Remote Release.

Rod,
Welcome to the Spydie forum!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Use it clipped to your keys. Just an idea. <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

The Snap-It works best on land when it is clipped to something above waist height, like a vest or coat. It is very easy to reach. If you want to clip to a belt loop, the Remote Release is a better idea.

Also works great as a diving knife just about anywhere on the body.

I use mine clipped to a D ring on my tree stand harness.

And I agree what you have is the Snap It <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> AUS-8 blade SE. Ron

Howdy Rod! Welcome to <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Land! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

It's a Snap-it, no question. Clipping it to a belt loop would work, as would mooring it to your keys or a zipper. Just keep it within reach.

Never underestimate the impossible.

Welcome aboard. Clip it to the zipper of your jeans. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Clip one to each earring. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Seriously, when around water, this is the way to go. When swimming or snorkeling in a natural setting, as opposed to a pool, I use a Snap-it clipped to a cord around my waist, or to a swimsuit if there is a place to attach the knife. For canoeing and kayaking, a PFD zipper is a good place if the PFD does not have a D-ring. On land, in heavy brush, a belt loop is good.

What an interesting picture you paint across my mind Rex G.
