Hello fellow spyderco lovers! What is your favorite spydie and why?
Don't have many but my favorite is the Endura. It's great for every day use and it's probably my most used knife including other brands.

My favorite Spydy???? Now in my pocket lies a Cricket, but I can't choose between them all.

That's a question that is tough for me to answer. It's like asking a parent: "Who's your favorite child?" Each knife is different and I love each one for what it is. Nonetheless, although my current "favorite" carry is the updated Viele, I can't say it's the most favorite of all Spydercos that I own. Does that make sense?
Hi Islander. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.
Favorite model...what day is today?

I feel lost without my Endura, but my Calypso Jr. C52P is slowly filling the gap.
In a lot of cases when I have to choose just 1, it takes a while to make the decision. I'll just have to buy some more....

My favorite Spydie, of all that I've owned
and passed on to friends is my "Cricket"
( the "Q" running a close second, with its
multi-position clip ), the "Cricket" is "street legal" ( with it's short blade length), light weight, and lightening quick
liner-locking action. Of all the knives I do
own, this is the one I always carry

The Calypso Jr. is definitely my favorite, in all its variations (well, in its zytel and micarta variations). To me they combine Spyderco's signature features (hole and clip), with an astoundingly good blade design and grind for its intended purpose, steel that meets its needs perfectly in either 8A or VG-10, and a handle that just works perfectly for what the knife is designed for.
If I lost my Calypso Jr., there's just no obvious replacement that combines its performance, looks, features, and price. That's why it edged out the endura for me, which I love nearly as much, but has acceptable competitors even among Spyderco's own line.

Thanks for the response guys! Right now I only have experience with endura and delica FRN and metal frames but I think I'll check out the Cricket and Calypso Jr.

What Joe said . The Calypso Jr has replaced the Native as my favourite knife for daily carry. I used to prefer the ergonomics of the Native but the flat grind of the Calypso's blade has won me over, and it's handle is both ergonomic and elegant. I was going to sell my micarta Calypso but fortunately didn't get around to it as I now use my Calypso Ltwt for day to day carry and have a dressier version fo the same knife for more "formal" occasions. Of course all this may change when I get my Chinese Folder .

Me too- I agree with Sal. I couldn't put a finger on a certain one and say "This is my favorite." I have too many that I really like to carry. Right now I might lean towards my Viele, but then again it could be the Chinook, or the Toad or..... AGGHH. Nope can't do it.

My favorite Spyderco is a Delica all stainless steel. It has a unique weight to size ratio. Looks elegant when worn with a suit and it is an eye catcher whenever somebody asks: "What is that shine in your pocket?" (Also it was my first Spyderco...)

It all depends on my plans for the day...
Weekdays, it's my ladybug, since it's my only spydie I can carry at school...
Weekends, My Delica... anything and everything... I still have my ladybug, but add my delica for the weekends...
We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

Depending on the situation, I alternate between Calypso Jr Ltw and Military. However, if I had to choose only one, it would be the Military

I only have 2 spydies right now, a ss Harpy and a frn Native. I have to say my fav. is the Harpy. I like it's heavier weight and the radical blade shape and deeply serrated edge (which is un-earthly sharp) causes a lot of WOWs'! When I pull it out to show folks.

It took quite some time, but finally I was able to purchase an aluminum cricket with a spyderco edge blade. I carry it all the time. One of the best knives I have to date.

Hmmmmmmmm. Many faves. Gunting just came yesterday, like it alot. Dragonfly and cricket are the best of the smaller spydies. All time fave is the harpy.

love my new Sage 2 ti. but its not going to be my go to knife for edc or hard use. not that it couldnt fill that role, but being so new i want to keep it nice at least for a little while. my fave edc picks are all spyderco . 1, Native s30v, 2, Endura FFg Vg-10. there are several others that i love but these are my top 2. Native wins because its just the best edc imo, theres nothing i cant use it for in edc tasks.

My favorite is S30V Military. Best knife I have ever used. Possible to use for maaaaaany tasks
My Stretch CF. The ergos, balance, and fit-and-finish are superb, the peel-ply carbon fiber grippy, and the 3.5" ZDP-189 blade cuts like crazy and stays sharp forever. Plus, its' very thin and disappears when clipped to my pocket.

Wow what an old thread...
More and more i have to say the Delica is becoming my favorite. I really love my Caly 3 but i like the thicker blade on the Delica. If i could just get a saber grind Caly 3.5 i'd be in heaven.

I own only two at the moment, but before I'd have to say the delica 1 or 2, which ever came with the molded clip. Great EDC, loved the tip, wish it had jimping on the spine though. I also with they kept the pointy tip that the delicas and enduras used to have.

Of what I own, I whittled it down to the
Michael Walker
Delica 4, FRN w/ZDP-189
Stretch FRN w/ ZDP-189
Then decided on the Delica because the blade length is the middle length of the three.
I think I'd like to see a Stretch with a 3" blade.

Spyderco Native 1 in SS is my fave and most often in rotation. I have a feeling the tenacious will replace it when that arrives.
Oops no I changed my mind. The Catcherman is my fav Spyderco. It was the first I ever got and I have kept it minty good. Its the sharpest knife I own and the blade shape makes me think its grinning at me every time I look at it. Its not as fancy as some of the ones I have now but I still cherish it.

Funny to see the old knives listed in the beginning of this thread. So many great models have been introduced since this thread started.
Favorite Spyderco knife? Of course this question has no answer except... all of them.

As of today, I'm bouncing back and forth between my Sage I and my FRN ZDP Stretch. Though the red Persian is pretty dang sweet. And the CTS-XHP Manix 2 is awesome as well. Dang it! Too many good knives to make up my mind!

The stree Beat followed by the military.
I really love the cricket. The knife is just awesome. It's thin, small, light and cuts like a bigger knife. I always have one on me. I will also have a bigger knife (Delica, Salt, Para-Military, Stretch or some other knife I feel like grabbing) coming along with it but the cricket is the one I use the most.

There are too many ways to go with a reply here:) With folders I could go many different ways, can't single out just one. The Urban is fantastic as a convenient user, but so are the Delicas, vg-10, sabre and FFG and Balance. I will say that with more use I slightly prefer vg-10 to s30v, although the PPT, Manix2 154cm, and Chokwe are really nicely rotated for different anticipations, Walker and Endura ZDP are both great for ergonomics and really sharp edgeholding, then you get into fixed blades with the Temp2, Bushcraft, Mule series (altho I'm only using the MT07 that's been slightly shortened). And there's still the Bradley and the 2 Delica ZDP, SE and PE, Lum Chinese vg-10, and Sage2 that are being held back as a very potent reserve in case all of the others disapear.
For me there's no way to choose just one. I'm hooked:):)

Too many great Spydies to choose from here.
I always have to choose what's knife best suits the job at hand. Any way the one which I get the most enjoyment from using is my original C83 Persian of course. :D

Currently my favorite would be my Mini Manix PE. It is the perfect EDC for me because I favor G10 scales, flat-ground blades, and Tip-up carry, and the Mini Manix grip fits my hand like it was made for me LOL. I also like the Paramilitary. Wish it were tip-up.

I have been a huge Spyderco fan since the late 1990s. I have owned at least 100 of them.
My all time fav is the Spyderco Centofante 4.
It has never let me down and preforms far beyond its size and weight. To me, that is the essence of a Spyderco. What makes a Spyderco a Spyderco is compact size, lightweight yet incredibly strong and preforms all out of proportion to what you might thing by looking at it.
I can't tell you how many well used old Delicas I have seen carried by people who are not even knife people. That is because the old Delica was small and light enough to never have to think about until you need it. People who would never carry something like a Para would still carry a Delica or Centofante 3-4 because they were so small, thin, light and inexpensive.
