Yesterday I was feeling pretty bored and decided to go ahead and get a Spyderco cap from the Spyderco factory store. I expected the hat would arrive probably sometime next week, when to my amazement, a USPS package was waiting on my porch when I arrived home. I thought to myself Spyderco sure is fast about getting their orders out.

So I look the package over, and the package apparently did come from the Spydero Factory Outlet, and it was addressed to me. I thought "Cool, my hat is here." and proceeded to open the box. To my surprise, all I found (at first) was a Spyderco catalog, and green styrafoam packaging peanuts. Then I digged around a little more trying to see if the hat was smashed at the bottom and discovered no hat, but a white Spyderco knife box. I thought to my self "WTF?! This can't be right! No way they can fit a hat in here." So I slide open the box open, and lying inside on bed of sparkling blue foam in all its glory, is a brand-spanking new, Spyderco Military spyderedge in 440V!

Needless to say I nearly passed out from the pleasure overload. But then I realized this can't be mine. I didn't order it and it needed to be returned to Spyderco or maybe shipped to it's rightful owner. So after a couple of minutes vocally cursing my moral upbringing and Spyderco for maliciously taunting me with an awesome knife I couldn't keep, I dug around some more and found the receipt on the bottom of the box confirming the Military's true owner.

To ED RUEL, JR. if you are on the forums:

I have your Military here! Don't worry, I didn't take the knife out of the box, open the knife up, touch the blade, or drool on it or anything. I think I might have touched the G10 with one finger, but that's it! I'll try to get it you somehow soon (whether through Spyderco or direct mail).

What I need now is a contact email or number for Spyderco customer service or something (I had the email on my original email receipt confirmation, but I think I deleted it). I need to ask the folks at Spyderco whether they want the knife shipped back to them or what they need me to do now, and about my cap.

Thanks in advance for the contact info and for letting me vent here on the forums. I'll go away now and sulk in the corner until Spyderco let's me know where to send the knife.

Patti & Angela--

No worries about the mix up. I'll send back the package insured later this week (early next week latest). Is there any way I can get reimbursed for the shipping?
Thanks.

Felix

Felix,
Well done sir. You are a stand-up guy. It makes me think of one of Sal's phrases, "There's an amazing connection between what people do and what happens to them." Glad to have you on the forum.
