ok, now that you have pics from my OT post, and factory stats, here's the thoughts.

Comfort of use : if you stick your index through the main hole, the bottle opener like tab in the front gets annoying over extended use(5-10min in hand). If you just wrap the index around the little hump, it's quite comfy though harder to pull on.

Sheath : have to upgrade. Though the factory kydex is gonna cost me more than the 5W did. The nylon one isn't exactly bad, though we as knife users we like something better.

Cutting ability : damn. it's sharp. I'm just glad the hook only allows 3/8", or it'd take a chunk of finger. I was playing with it at work today, cutting anything I could. 2" webbing(seatbelt type stuff), 1/2" & 3/4" nylon webbing, 1/4" & 1/2" rope(braided cotton and nylon), 1/8" nylon twine, and 4mm plastic wrap... had to strop my edge at 8am and 1230... was taking some added force to cut through, so touching it up in a few minutes.

Overall opinion : at 14usd + shipping, I'll most likely grab an extra 2 of them... home, keys, and belt. This one spent all day(full 24hrs since I got it) on my belt, left hip(opposite of lumto). Tried right/front/hip, but the sheath buckled.

Never thought they would be much use but you have certainly got enough use in 24 hrs to know. Congrats on a new non-Spydie!

Craig> Got it so I didn't have a tip to worry about. I spent my first hour or so at work cutting whatever I could find that fit in it. even used it in any grip available... forward/reverse, hook up and down... forward/down works best.
The funny thing is that this is the only canada-legal BM I haven't got to handle before, this was a blind luck purchase. Read reviews if I could find them, and looked at pics and stats.

Thanks for the review. Looks like an interesting knife(?). Yet not interesting enough to make me want one

Canada legal BM? Have you only handled the autos?
I guess it would be usefull in that there is no point. You make a good point...
How do you like the 440c, first thoughts anyways?

Craig> Canada legal being the manual folders. Auto and Bali are illegal in canada, so I can't handle them in a B&M up here.

BM's HT is off from spyderco(to be expected), meaning you have to strop more often. I'm starting to drift down to "lower qual" steels(as compared to the current trend of vg-10, cpm, d2 and such). 8A is a sweet steel. 440C is just under it, and BM's 440C degrades a bit quickly over heavy use(but then again this is a tool designed to cut a couple straps and get touched up).

Thanks for the review, VW...This is one non-Spydie I've been considering simply due to its application specific design...
