Been using this lube for awhile now and it's great stuff, but I've noticed that if it gets on the bearing surface of a liner lock (where the ramp meets the very edge of the liner) I get a sorta binding effect for a few hrs then it goes away.

Just curious if I'm the only 1 that gets this? Ron

I usually do not lube our linerlocks there, or very sparingly. I really like Militech 1! RKBA!

I noticed that too.Tuf Glide does the same thing.

I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

Militech is very good, indeed! Didn't notice that binding effect. I'll take a look ASAP.

It's possible that being lubricated there, the liner pushes over ever so slightly more than it normally would, and engages just a little farther.

Kind of like snapping open a linerlock really hard, the lock seems to be harder to release than if you just open the blade gently.

I agree with zrexxer. I've noticed that Militec 1 sort of beads up on the steel for awhile. Sort of like rain does on a newly waxed car. According to the people at Militec 1 this stuff actually penetrates the steel. It is also supposed to be excellent on firearms and a whole lot of law enforcement & military units use it.
Have you noticed the beading I refered to?I can actualy tell by looking at a knife or gun that it was lubed with Militec 1. Dave

Yep I bet that's it fellas, it's perfect otherwise and it always goes away.
I also can tell when a knife has been treated with Miltech Dave, I prety much agree with them that it penetrates metal,
I've used it on 1095 steel and left it out in the rain just to see if it would rust and it didn't.
Alan I don't lube there either but it always seeps down somehow and gets on the bearing surface. Ron

Dang, it looks like I might have to give Militech (Miltech?) a try.

The "effect" you're suffering Ron, might be
something know as a capillary suction effect. The lube forms a "clot" and binds the liner ( Walker ) lock.
