I always carry a Spyderco LadyBug in my pocket and use it at least 10 times a day, and I'm an administrative assistant in a college office. Not one of the men in my office carry any type of pocket knife! What's up with that?! People get shocked when I whip out my knife, yet they're always happy to use it. They also like to borrow my Leatherman!

Why would you call them "men"? Just kidding. Seriously, all they need is someone to educate them on the enjoyment and usefulness of a small pocket knife. Stress that it is a tool--not a weapon. To speed up their education maybe you should charge them a quarter everytime they ask to use your tools. Or do as the professional auto mechanics do--post a sign that states: My insurance company prohibits me to lend out my tools. Good Luck, and welcome to the forum.

It is a long path converting the knifeless, but fun!! Good luck!! Maybe you need to leave a "Knives Illustrated" or "Blade" magazine some where.
Tell them to try the Spyderco Test. Carry a knife for 30 days, then decide if they need one.

Hi Karin, welcome to the forum. My wife has a Ladybug on her keyring that I gave her for Christmas a couple of years ago. I've offered to get her a bigger knife but she says the Ladybug will do everything she needs (even making peanut butter sandwiches ) and she wouldn't carry anything that wasn't on her keyring. She's a casual maths teacher at the school where I work and the "men" in the maths department are equally surprised when she opens her knife instead of walking over to the cupboard for scissors.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.
